I needed to take a moment to have everyone listen for a minute about the human touch. Peter Orisses and Bobby Mehdizadeh from United Realty Associates were more than human on Sunday, August 20, 2006. I "inherited" a problem tenant ever since my father's passing. Peter stepped in as a friend and guided me in the right direction on how to handle this situation.Sunday was the day that I could finally feel liberated from such an evil person. The routine was simple: sign the form and give me the keys and be on your way. It didn't really work out that way. We all showed up at 3pm and 6pm we were still there! There was a point where Peter called 311 to get information about garbage pick up and that's not all...Peter rolled up his sleeves with Bobby and started double bagging garbage and moving garbage so that we wouldn't get a summons. Ladies and gentlemen let me remind you that this is Sunday afternoon! Peter received a phone call from his wife about dinner and Peter replied "I'm not going to make it". All along the way Peter always made sure that I didn't lose my calm or patience. There were times where he would joke around to make me laugh just to change the mood. If that wasn't enough, we all took a ride to Coney Island for Nathan's hot dogs. I know this sounds like a "Taster's Choice" commercial but this is real. I feel like that we all just don't get it! Almost everyone you run into is a "common person". How many people do you know make false promises and have become corrupted by society? How many people do you really believe in what they say without some hidden agenda? Finally the rare few that exist out there that carry the same wonder like the innocence of a child are the "uncommon" people. People that live selfless lives and people that you believe and trust. I guess life has a way of balancing out the world in its own special way.
Peter, thank you for being so "uncommonly" special. I'll always remember this day forever..."
